While teaching at the John Adams campus in SF, I did a lot of walking around before class. I'm crazy about those San Francisco victorians! Even, or especially, the shabby ones, with all their secrets and history .
I call this one "Hiraeth", which I heard to be the Welsh word for "a longing for a home that is lost or never existed."
